Neighbourhood Programme Hungary\Slovakia\Ukraine is seeking proposals
for cross-border co-operation projects in Ukraine with financial
assistance from the Tacis Cross-border Co-operation programme of
the European Communities.
The full Guidelines for Applicants are available for consultation

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF
TOURISM
On 23 February 2007, the international conference "New
opportunities for cross-border tourism development in Carpathian
Euroregion" took place, which gathered more than one hundred
participants from Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary. There were representatives
of tourist infocentres, enterprises and resort centres, famous tourism
magazines, civil society organizations and state institutions, scientists
and journalists. The conference was organized by the Ukrainian-Hungarian
Regional Development Centre together with Transcarpathian Regional
State Administration within the implementation of the project in
the framework of the "Hungary-Slovakia-Ukraine Neighbourhood
INTERREG IIIA/TACIS" EU Program. More...
THE BEREHOVO TOURIST INFORMATION
CENTRE
In July 2006, realization of the new project titled "Building up
of the regional Tourist Information Centre in Zakarpatska oblast"
within the "Hungary-Slovakia-Ukraine Neighbourhood INTERREG IIIA/TACIS"
Program started. The Project is implemented by the Ukrainian-Hungarian
Regional Development Centre in partnership with the Main Department
of European Integration, External Economic Affairs and Tourism of
the Transcarpathian State Administration, and Hungarian partners
from Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg region. The new Tourist Information
Centre in Berehovo town was opened on the 17th of November, 2006.

About the Centre
In the hall for visitors on the left the information desk is situated,
where there are free of charge tourist materials and electronic
database about destinations, spas, health resorts, sights throughout
Transcarpathian region. On the right hand there is the exhibition
hall with wide choice of transcarpathian folk handmade goods, which
are for sale. Moreover, transcarpathian artists have opportunity
to organize art exhibitions of their works in the exhibition hall.
The exhibitions are open for everyone, the paintings can be bought.
The infocentre also has a good equipped conference hall for seminars,
trainings, business appointments etc.
The overall objective of the Project is to increase the level of
tourism development in the region as one of the most promising economic
branches of Zakarpatska oblast.
Specific objectives of the Infocentre:
- to promote tourism development in Transcarpathian
region;
- to provide the local and foreign tourists
and organizations with information about tourist services and
resources available in Transcarpathia;
- to tighten cooperation between tourist organizations
of Transcarpathian region;
- to conduct studies and seminars for tourism
managers;
- to develop tourism potential of Transcarpathia,
in particular in Berehovo district;
Services provided by the Berehovo Tourist Infocentre:
- dissemination of information about tourism
potential of Carpathian region;
- organization of routes, programs etc. and
their coordination;
- reservation of rooms and apartments for tourists;
- compilation and permanent updating of the
database about Transcarpathia and neighbouring cross-border regions;
- publication and dissemination of informational
materials, guide books, maps etc.;
- elaboration of web-site;
- organization of trainings and training tours;
- organization of exhibitions of transcarpathian
artists;
- sale of souvenirs, maps, guide books, cards
etc.
